Underwater Housing for RED ONE Camera

The AquaTechnica custom built underwater housing is available for hire to other, experienced DoP's.

Rated to 80m, the AquaTechnica is a mechanical, underwater housing, which was custom built for the RED ONE Camera. The housing is ideal for all types of underwater shooting, from wild-life to TV commercials. The camera is housed with either a RED 18-50mm Zoom lens or Zeiss Mark 2 prime lenses, available in focal lengths 16mm to 50mm. There are two precision, mechanical gears for accurate focus pulling and iris change, and there are manual levers for on/off, stop/start and user assigned buttons 1, 2 & 5.

Monitoring is with a Gates "Deep Red" 5.6" monitor, mounted at the front of the housing and there is an optional HD-SDI video assist feed for up to 60m length.
The system holds one Red Drive and with the optional Switronix hot swap adapter it is possible to have up to two Red Brick batteries installed, which will keep the camera operating for up to 2-3 hours. The internal layout of the camera, batteries and Red-Drive has been designed to allow or efficient heat dissipation, and so the system is not prone to overheating like some other RED housings.
For security, both the camera and monitor housings have external pressure valves allowing the housings to be slightly pressurised. The pressure is monitored for a few minutes prior to entering the water, and an external pressure gauge will show if all the seals are holding correctly. There are also 2 internal audible/visual leak alarms.
